Strmilov is a lovely town near Jindřichův Hradec, approximately 80 kilometres east of České Budějovice. It has a good range of shops and services, including plenty of places to eat and drink.

- Strmilov includes four villages, too: Česká Olešná, Leština, Malý Jeníkov and Palupín.

Local government
Strmilov has a town council consisting of fifteen councillors. The Town Council normally holds its meetings six times a year, in the Town Hall. The meetings are open to the public to attend as observers.
